Scientific Advisors

ImVisioN has assembled a Scientific Advisory Board comprising the following scientific experts in the fields of immunology, allergology and preclinical and clinical development of immunotherapeutics.


Prof. Dr. Reto Crameri

Prof. Crameri is currently the Head of the Division of Molecular Allergology at the Swiss Institute of Allergy and Asthma Research (SIAF) in Davos, Switzerland, and Guest Professor for Molecular Immunology at the University of Salzburg, Austria. Previously Prof. Crameri held a senior scientific position at Biogen SA in Geneva and was the Head of the Swiss Radon Project at the Paul Scherrer Institute (1987-1989). He studied microbiology and biochemistry at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich, Switzerland, where he completed his PhD in genetics of industrial microorganisms in 1980.

Prof. Crameri is the main inventor of the MAT ™ technology, which ImVisioN is using to develop allergy immunotherapy.


Dr. Hans Grönlund

Dr. Grönlund is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Allergy and Clinical Immunology Unit, Institute of Medicine at the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden. Prior to that, Dr. Grönlund was Head of the Department of Molecular Immunology, R&D, at Pharmacia Diagnostic AB - the world leader in allergy diagnostics. Dr. Grönlund received his PhD in Medical Science from the Karolinska Institute and his BSc in Biology from the University of Stockholm.


Prof. Dr. Ludger Klimek

Dr. Klimek is the Head of the Centre of Rhinology and Allergology, Wiesbaden, Germany and Professor of Rhinology, Allergology and Environmental Medicine, Ruprecht-Karls-Universität, Heidelberg, Germany. He is also a board member of Association of German Allergologists (ADA), a Consultant in Allergology, American Rhinologic Society and Secretary of Scientific Affairs for the International Society of Otolaryngologic Allergy. Prof. Klimek obtained his M.D. from the RWTH in Aachen, Germany.


PD Dr. Thomas Kündig

Dr. Kündig is currently the Medical Director of the Department of Dermatology at the University Hospital Zurich, Switzerland. Prior to that, he held postdoctoral positions at the Department of Medical Biophysics (Prof. Dr. T. Mak) at the University of Toronto, Canada (1992-1995), and the Institute for Experimental Immunology (Prof. Dr. R. Zinkernagel) at the University Zurich (1989-1992). He obtained his MD at the University of Zurich. Dr. Kündig has been involved in the founding of several biotechnology companies.

Dr. Kündig is the main inventor of the intralymphatic immunotherapy (ILIT), which ImVisioN is using for the delivery of its allergy treatments.


Prof. Dr. Andreas Pfützner

Prof. Pfützner is the CEO of the Institute for Clinical Research and Development, a clinical research organization (CRO), and Professor for Applied Clinical Research at the University of Applied Sciences, Rheinbach, Germany. Previously, he was Head of Clinical Research Diabetics at Lilly Germany. Prof. Pfützner obtained his MD from the Johannes-Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany, and a diploma in chemistry from the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University in Frankfurt.


Prof. Dr. Rolf Zinkernagel

Prof. Zinkernagel is the Head of Institute for Experimental Immunology at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. In 1996, Prof. Zinkernagel received the Nobel Prize for Medicine and Physiology for his discovery of “MHC restriction”. He is a member of the executive board of Novartis and is engaged in promoting several young biotechnology companies. Prof. Zinkernagel received his MD from the University of Basel, Switzerland and his PhD from the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia.
